Social Media Manager

1099 Position with Flexible Schedule

About Resistance Communications (RC):

RC is a women-led Creative Action Agency. We collaborate with activists, non-profits, foundations, businesses, and movements using the power of storytelling and art to mobilize, advocate, and shape new pathways towards liberation. We engage in work throughout the U.S. as well as globally.

We are seeking a Social Media Manager (Part-Time) to support Resistance Communications in elevating our work, and the voices of the resisters of injustice we partner with. In this role, you will be part of a committed team and work to co-design and craft a social media strategy, implementation plan, and assets; and manage our social media presence. We are very excited to work with someone who brings a deep passion for this work, a creative eye, and who gets excited about raising the visibility of RC and the work of the social justice leaders we partner with!

Primary Responsibilities & Job Duties:

  • Create immediate and long term social media implementation plan to grow online presence and engagement on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and possibly other social media platforms

  • Create visual content, templates, and graphic designs for social channels on a weekly basis with accompanying captions.

  • Craft 1-2 Newsletters per month

  • Craft 1 LinkedIn Post per week

  • Create monthly editorial calendars to promote the company brand on various social media channels. These should include strategy for creating immediate topical content as needed.

  • Post 5+ times per week on RC’s online presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

  • Directly engage and increase engagement on RC’s social media channels.

  • Be creative. We are looking for someone to take “standard social media practices” and fuse our voice, style, and originality.

  • Work within agreed upon deadlines, and be flexible to emergent needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years managing social media strategies, channels and content.

    2. Passionate about creating unique content on the nexus of social justice, storytelling, art, and time travel.

    3. Proven ability to develop relevant, relatable content, and organically grow audiences on multiple social media platforms.

    4. Established track record of running online social media campaigns with a clear system of tracking metrics on engagement, response, and conversation.

    5. Experience leveraging analytics and data for better strategy, content, and engagement.

    6. Experience writing persuasive social media content.

    7. Strong attention to detail, ability to deliver work products under deadlines, and commitment to high quality standards.

    • Experience in graphic design (knowledge of Photoshop, Indesign, and/or Illustrator, Canva, Procreate) is a plus.

    • Experience working on social media in the social justice or non-profit space is a plus.

    • Additional languages are a plus.
